COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Junior Milahnie Perry and senior team captain Madison Smith of the Air Force Women's Basketball team were named to three postseason superlatives, as the Mountain West Conference released its All-Conference and Player of the Year selections on Sunday.
Perry earned All-MW honorable mention status, averaging 15.8 points per game throughout Mountain West play this season. Perry scored 20 or more in four Mountain West games this season, including a season high 28 at San Jose State and combining for 53 with Smith in a March 1 home win over Boise State. Perry's end-of-year nod from the conference marks her third in as many seasons with Air Force.
Smith, a two-way force for the Falcons in 2024-25, was named to both All-Mountain West and All-Defensive superlatives.
Smith, the sixth-highest scorer in league play this season, has averaged 16.1 points per game since the start of Mountain West play. Through the past five games for Air Force, Smith has shot .506 (45-89) from the field and an even .500 (18-36) from three-point range, earning her back-to-back Mountain West Player of the Week honors along the way.
In addition to being a foundational piece on the Falcons' offense, Smith led the Mountain West in steals for the duration of 2024-25. Smith recorded four or more steals in nine games in 2024-25, including matching a career-best with six takeaways on her Senior Day against Boise State (March 1), tying the most by a player in league play this season.
Combining for 53 points at San Jose State (Jan. 11), Smith and Perry both eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for their respective careers, becoming the 19th and 20th players to do so in Air Force history and the fourth-such duo to collectively claim the honor in the same season.
Smith and Perry finished conference play with a regular season scoring average of 31.9 points, the most of any duo across the Mountain West.
Air Force Women's Basketball, the seven seed in the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women's Basketball Championship, opens its postseason bid today at 5:30 p.m. MT, taking on No. 10 Utah State in Las Vegas.
