
Women’s Tennis Picks Up 4-1 Win Over St. Thomas

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force Women's Tennis closed out its non-conference with a 6-1 victory over St. Thomas on Sunday afternoon at Cadet East Gym.
In doubles, the Falcons picked up wins on lines two and three in order. Freshman duo Shivaani Selvan and Sofia Mavor got back to .500 on the season, downing Jannah ElNemr/Anna Sidorenko in a 6-0 shutout win. Air Force's Nadia Kojonroj/Joselyn Limbago clinched the match on the third flight, with the pair competing together for the first time and Limbago taking the court in doubles for the first time this season. The pair gathered a 6-2 win over Tommies' pair Caroline Lindahl/Ingrid Forsberg to remain undefeated at home (6-0) in gathering the doubles point this season and a 1-0 start to the match.
In singles action, Air Force played to a clinch on courts two, three and four. Kojonroj was the first Falcon to get off her court, downing St. Thomas' Anna Sidorenko, 6-1, 6-2, improving to 8-2 in dual singles with back-to-back wins. On line three, freshman Maya Michalski dominated, taking home a 6-2, 6-2 straight-set win over Jannah ElNemr, earning her second victory this season. Shivaani Selvan locked up the match win for Air Force, downing Lily Olson in a three-set battle, holding on for a 7-5 win in the third to clinch for the Falcons.
Sophomore Joselyn Limbago, showing in singles for just the second time this season, took her first set in court six over Tommie Regina Talavera and led in the second, before her match was abandoned due to Air Force securing the clinch.
