Arjun Kersten Earns Third MW Men’s Tennis Player of the Week Honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Arjun Kersten of Air Force has been named Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of Week for matches played during the week of April 7-13, announced today by the conference office.

This is the third-career MW POW honor for the senior from Plano, Texas, setting a program record for most MW Player of the Week honors in a season at Air Force and ties with Lance Wilhelm for the most ever in a career.

Kersten went 3-1 last weekend in matches against UNLV and San Diego State. Against UNLV, Kersten won at No. 2 singles over Illia Makysmchuk in straight sets 7-5, 6-1.

In the 4-0 win over San Diego State, Kersten went 2-0, winning at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles. In doubles, Kersten teamed with Jack Brown to defeat Alaxander Mandma/Denis Meijorov 6-4. In singles, he defeated Mandma in straight sets 7-5, 6-1.

Air Force has had a banner season with the MW weekly awards, garnering a program-record four MW POWs, in addition to three MW Freshman of the Week's.

The Falcons return to action Thursday at #42 Boise State and Saturday at Utah State.
