
Women's Soccer Announces 2025 Captains and Leadership Council

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo., - Air Force women's soccer is elated to announce their rising seniors who will serve as captains for the incoming 2025 season: Peyton Ferrell, Raine Komata, and Samantha Sharp. The trio of veterans will bring experience and strong command into the new season. Annika Jost and Addie Doyle will join them on the leadership council.
"We are really proud of the process we put in place to select the new leadership council," expressed head coach Laura Busby. "With the help of sports psychologist Dr. Dillon Small, the team was able to identify the most important qualities they would like to see in our leadership team. It is now our responsibility to help them grow in their leaderships styles and serve the team in this capacity."
Peyton Ferrell wears #14 and is a vital midfielder for the Falcons. Over the course of her career the Austin, TX., native has started all 37 games she has played, scored two goals and marked one assist for five points in 2,614 minutes on the pitch.
Raine Komata serves as a defender for Air Force and boasts #22. The Mililani, Hawai'i native has logged 2,474 minutes on defense and collected six points off a pair of goals and assists across 45 matches. Komata has been named to the Mountain West All-Academic Team and served on the leadership council during the 2024 season.
Samantha Sharp rounds out the trio of captains and is a defender representing the Falcons with #6. In 29 games with nine starts, the Naperville, Ill., native has collected three points off one goal and one assist and played strong defense in 1,025 minutes on the pitch. Sharp is a two-time Mountain West All-Academic Team honoree.
Rising C2C, Addie Doyle wears #13 and plays as a forward and midfielder for Air Force. The Centennial, Colo., native accounts for three goals and two assists for eight points in 1,788 minutes of play and 36 total appearances. Doyle was named to the Mountain West All-Newcomer Team as a freshman in 2023 and is a two-time honoree on the All-Academic Team.
Last but not least, Annika Jost looks serve on the leadership council as an incoming sophomore. The midfielder/defender boasts #7 and started 10 games out of 17 appearances in her first season on the pitch for the Falcons. Jost hails from Temecula, Calif., and tallied seven points off three goals and one assist in 1,042 minutes during her debut season. She earned a spot on the Mountain West All-Academic Team as a freshman.
