Air Force returns to Falcon stadium for the first time in four weeks to host Bellarmine in ASUN action in the first of a two-game home stretch.
Installation Access Requirements
The U.S. Air Force Academy processes to access the installation continue to affect athletic events. While the installation remains open, if you do not have a DoD ID card you will need to obtain a pass to enter the base. Ticket holders wishing to attend can request a base pass by using the links below for each game. Once you register, you will receive a message with a QR code on your phone to present at the gate when entering the Academy. Fans will present game tickets (if needed) when entering each venue. All ticketed/credentialed attendees will need to enter through the North Gate only to get to the Cadet Field House.

The History
Air Force and Bellarmine are meeting for the 20th time in program history this Saturday. The Falcons lead the all-time series 15-4 and have won nine of the last 10 meetings. Last season, the AF downed the Knights, 11-7, at USAFA. Just two seasons ago, Bellarmine snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Falcons with an 11-10 win in Louisville. Air Force defends the home turf well against the Knights, holding an 8-1 record against Bellarmine when playing at USAFA.
A Quick Look at AF
Air Force is looking to snap a three-game losing streak this weekend. Senior team captain Josh Yago (19g, 19a) and junior attacker Caelan Driggs (30g, 8a) are expected to lead the charge. In the second week of conference play, Yago is second in the league in points per game (4.38) and assists per game (2.13), second to Ryan Stines (Utah, 2.44 APG) and John Alie (Bellarmine, 5.00 PPG), respectively. Driggs is second in the ASUN in goals per game (3.13) behind John Alie (Bellarmine, 3.17 GPG) and third in the league in points per game (4.13). Driggs has scored a goal in every game this season leads the Falcons with six hat tricks highlighted by three five-goal games.
Other key scorers for AF include Wes Peene (14g, 5a), Cole Rassas (8g, 6a), and Ryan Stadelmaier (10g, 2a).
In goal, senior keeper Jake Marek is expected to make the start. Marek has the second best GAA in the ASUN (11.88) and carries a .470 save percentage. Defensively, Air Force is anchored by Cole Cunningham, Daniel Enoch and Matt Rosato who combine for 24 CTOs. Cunningham is third in the ASUN in ground balls per game (4.50) and has picked up 45 GBs this season. Seniors Daniel Haimes and Jake Knapp split time at the center dot with Haimes taking most of the attempts in the last few games. Haimes is third in the league in faceoff win percentage (.500) and picks up on average 3.13 ground balls per game.
A Glance at Bellarmine
Bellarmine will take the field under the command of coach Andrew Whiley in his sixth season and is coming off a closely played 11-9 loss at home to Utah in their ASUN opener.
Junior attack John Alie is second in the NCAA with 38 goals. On March 11 against Hampton, he tied the BU single-game records for both goals (6) and points (9). It was the third six-goal effort of his career, and his second this year. He is first in the ASUN/T-9th nationally averaging 5.00 ppg and first in the ASUN/12th nationally averaging 3.17 gpg. The native of Aurora, Colorado, leads BU with 60 points (38g, 22a). BU's single-season program records are held by Christian Della Rocco (50g in 2023) and Kyle Playsted (79 points in 2023).
Bellarmine keeper Nolan Hudnut is one of the top keepers in the ASUN, leading the league in save percentage (.537) and saves per game (13.25). He holds a 12.34 GAA this season.
Last Time Out
The Falcons came up short against Jacksonville in the ASUN Conference opener, 15-11, Saturday afternoon at Rock Stadium. Junior attack man Caelan Driggs put up five goals on 10 shots, marking his fourth five-goal performance and sixth hat trick this season. Six Falcons accounted for the 11 goals, sophomore Charlie Pyfer and freshman Michael Frieri notched their first collegiate goals. Junior defender Cole Cunningham picked up a season best eight ground balls.

Air Force hangs around the Academy as they welcome Queens University of Charlotte (Queens) for an ASUN Conference battle on Saturday, April 12. Action at Falcon Stadium is slated for noon MT. The Falcons are 2-0 against the Royals since the all-time series began two seasons ago.
