Falcons Split for a Pair of Saturday Competitions

The Air Force track and field team heads out on the road this Saturday (May 3), when the squad splits for two meets. The majority will travel to Fort Collins for the Doug Max Invitational, while a small contingent of athletes will head to Tucson for the Desert Heat Classic.

MEET INFORMATION – DOUG MAX INVITATIONAL
The Doug Max Invitational will be held at Colorado State's Jack Christiansen Track on Saturday, May 3. Admission is free, as is parking in the "A" lot on he north side of the track. Live results are scheduled to be provided via Rapid Results and the meet will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.

AIR FORCE IN THE RANKINGS
Backed by a pair of top-10 rankings from Texas Tanner, the Falcons hold three Top 20 marks in the latest national rankings. Tanner is ranked fourth in the hammer throw (75.83 meters) and ninth in the discus throw (62.45 meters), while Brayden Richards is ranked 12th in the decathlon with 7659 points.
SQUAD GOALS
With a combined distance of 237 meters, the men's hammer throw quartet of Texas Tanner, Cooper Stroka, Massimo Grisotto and Arden Jenkins are ranked 11th in the April 28 edition of the USTFCCCA #EventSquad Rankings – which are determined by the cumulative season-best marks from a team's top four athletes in the national descending order list. The men's 10,000-meter lineup is also listed in the nation's top 20, as Jayden Nats, Max Sannes, Tanner Lindahl and Brenton Maddox have combined for a time of 1:56:05.
A NIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS
04-25-25 | The junior duo of Jayden Nats and Max Sannes accounted for two of the four-fastest 10,000-meter times in Air Force history during a stellar night on the track at the Payton Jordan Invitational on April 25. Nats clocked a career-best time of 28:22.06 to vault up to No. 2 on the program's all-time standings and lower his own Air Force Junior Class Record, while Sannes, running his first 10K since 2023, posted a personal-best time of 28:25.20 to move up to No. 4 in the Academy Record Book.

04-25-25 | With former Falcons Ryan Johnson and Luke Combs running unattached at the Payton Jordan Invitational, the four fastest distance runners in Air Force history were in the lineup at Cobb Track on April 25 (Johnson 28:20.70, Jayden Nats 28:22.06, Combs 28:24.84, Max Sannes 28:25.20).

After a full year of road competitions, the Falcons will be at the Academy next Friday (May 9), when they close out the regular season hosting the Air Force Twilight Open at the Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex. Action begins at 10:00 a.m. (MT) and will include the program's annual Senior Day Celebration.
