COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Air Force Track and Field closed out the regular season with four Mountain West Athlete of the Week awards, as freshman Morgan Glaser, classmate Saketh Rudraraju, and junior Texas Tanner combined to sweep the conference's field and freshman honors on May 13.
Glaser was named the MW Women's Field Athlete and Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, as she also opened her collegiate career with the same two awards in December. Rudraraju was named the MW Men's Freshman of the Week for the first time, while Tanner was selected as the MW Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season – and the seventh time in his career.
The freshmen duo picked up first-place marks in their respective events at the Air Force Twilight Open, as Glaser (La Vista, Neb.) won the high jump with a clearance of 1.76 meters (5'9½") and Rudraraju (Lewis Center, Ohio) used the sixth-fastest 1500-meter time in Academy history (4:42.06, adjusted for altitude) to finish first out of 29 runners and set a new Air Force Freshman Class Record.
Tanner (Sheridan, Wyo.) picked up an easy first-place finish in the hammer throw during the Falcons' regular-season finale, as he recorded a distance of 75.16 meters (246'7") – a mark just shy of his own Mountain West, Service Academy and Air Force Record – to better the rest of the field by more than 30 feet, set a new Meet Record, and add more than five feet to a Facility Record that had stood since the 1983 Olympic Festival.
The Falcons head to California his week for the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The three-day meet will start on May 15 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis.
