Odom Named ITA Mountain Region Most Improved Player

TEMPE, Ariz. – On Tuesday, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2025 ITA Division I Women's Regional Award recipients. 2nd Lt Alexis Odom of the Air Force Women's Tennis team was named ITA Mountain Region Most Improved Player for 2025.
Odom, the Falcons' team captain for the 2024-25 season, finished her senior campaign with 30 combined wins, more than doubling her win count from the year prior. The senior finished with a team-best 13-6 doubles record with freshman Maya Michalski, starting the dual season 4-1 and closing on a 7-1 run in their final eight matches. As a result of her 2024-25 successes, Odom was named an All-Mountain West honoree for the first time in her Falcon career and closed the year the 18th ranked singles competitor in the Mountain Region.
Odom's upward trajectory in her final season proved foundational in Air Force completing the largest single-season turnaround in its history, adding 11 dual wins to its season total from 2024 to 25.
The ITA Division I Women's Regional Awards include: ITA Coach of the Year, ITA Assistant Coach of the Year, ITA Cissie Leary Sportsmanship, Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship, ITA Rookie of the Year, ITA Most Improved Player, ITA Senior Player of the Year, ITA Player to Watch, and ITA Community Service Award.
National award winners will be announced this Friday, June 13th.
