NEW ORLEANS – The Air Force track and field program saw six individuals and one team earn All-Academic distinction from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as the USTFCCCA recently honored athletes from around the country for their work in the classroom and on the competition field during the recent indoor and outdoor season.
Recent graduate Jason Renze (3.50, astronautical engineering) was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the third consecutive year, while junior India Jones (3.79, biology) earned her second-straight mention as an all-academic performer. Classmates Max Sannes (3.70, civil engineering) and 2024 Air Force graduate Ally Peterson (3.33, biology) earned their first track and field honor, although the pair have been recognized by the USTFCCCA in cross country, while first-time honorees – junior Zach Ayers (3.47, geospatial science) and freshman Brayden Richards (3.57, management) rounded out the Falcons' list with their first academic honor from the association.
The women also claimed All-Academic Team honors from the USTFCCCA, as the association recognized programs that maintained a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.00 or higher, based on the USTFCCCA formula. The women, who completed the 2025 season with a combined 3.08 GPA, have been named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for seven-straight years.
The list of USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes is determined by both academic and athletic achievement during the track and field season. To qualify, the student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 of an individual event or as a member of a relay that was ranked in the top 48 on the official NCAA POP list; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships.
