The Air Force cross country team, which includes the 23rd-ranked men's squad, kicks off the 2025 campaign tomorrow (Aug. 29) morning, when it hosts the AFXC Classic in Colorado Springs.
MEET INFORMATION
The AFXC Classic will take place at North Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs and is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. (MT). Spectators driving from the Academy should take I-25 south to Fillmore Street (exit 145). After exiting the interstate, turn left onto W. Fillmore Street, right onto N. Cascade Avenue, and right onto E. Fontenaro Street. Parking is located along Fontenaro and the start is located down the hill. The men will run five miles in the first race, while the women will follow with a three-mile race.
MEN FOURTH, WOMEN FIFTH IN MOUNTAIN WEST PRESEASON RANKINGS
08-27-25 | With 57 points, the men tied for fourth out of 10 teams in the Mountain West Preseason Poll, while the women recorded 83 points for the No. 5 spots in the 12-team field.
MEN RETURN TO NATIONAL CONVERSATION
08-26-24 | The men returned to the national rankings in 2025, as they tallied 66 points for a No. 23 placement in the USTFCCCA Preseason Coaches Poll – marking the ninth-straight year that the Falcons have opened the season listed in the national conversation. Regionally speaking, the men are fifth and the women are ninth in the Mountain Region.
LOOK WHO'S BACK
Air Force has two returning all-conference runners on its roster, as well as all five scoring runners from last year's team. Max Sannes, the Mountain West Freshman of the Year in 2022, claimed first-team all-conference honors as a sophomore (fourth), while Zach Ayers was a second-team all-MW honoree last season (ninth). In addition, Sannes and Jayden Nats also ran on the 2023 squad that competed at the national championships, with Nats clocking in as the team's No. 5 scorer.
SAY HELLO TO THE CLASS OF 2029
Air Force welcomed nine freshmen to its roster for the 2025 season, with the addition of Will Bradbury, Corbin Cole, Christopher Creedon, Ryan Daly, Bryce Denton, Auge Martin, Eleanor Raker, Marcie Roberts, and Josh Shriver.
