
Slife, Bigler Dominate Week Two MW Accolades

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force's Women's Gymnastics's go-to all-arounders dominated the week two Mountain West Gymnast of the Week honors, earning a piece or more of all five top accolades bestowed by the league.
Sophomore Alyssa Bigler was named Mountain West Co-Specialist of the Week in both balance beam (9.850) and floor exercise (9.900), matching the week two high scores across the league. At the Falcons's quad in New Hampshire over the weekend, Bigler's 9.900 on floor proved a career best while leading Air Force to a 49.000 finish in the event.
Junior Maggie Slife's spot continues to garner national attention, as the reigning Mountain West Gymnast of the Year was named league Gymnast of the Week for the second consecutive week. Slife added MW Vault, Bars and a share of Floor Specialist of the Week honors with teammate Bigler to the extensive list of career accolades linked to her already. In Hew Hampshire, Slife earned at least a share of first place in three of four events on Sunday, closing competition with a 39.425 all-around score, besting the field by .125 while tying the third-best all-around finish in Air Force history. After two weeks of competition, Slife ranks seventh in the nation as an all-around gymnast.
