
Slife Retains Grip on Mountain West Gymnast of the Week, Adds Vault/Bars/Beam Top Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the Mountain West Conference, Air Force gymnast Maggie Slife remains the tip of the spear.
Slife, for the ninth-straight time this season, was named Mountain West Gymnast of the Week, while additionally adding Specialist of the Week honors on vault, uneven bars and balance beam.
In the March 6 triangular versus San Jose State and Denver, Slife scored a 39.650 as an all-arounder to tie the all-time program record. Contributing to that score were meet-high tallies on the uneven bars (9.975), balance beam (9.925) and floor exercise (9.900). With those scores, the junior helped Air Force to a program-record 196.425 and a share of its first-ever Mountain West regular-season title.
In Monday's dual at DU, Slife recorded at least a share of the Falcons' top scores on the vault (9.925), uneven bars (9.850), and balance beam (9.825), while winning the all-around with a 39.475.
With the Tuesday announcement, Slife collects her ninth Gymnast of the Week honor this season, a ninth-straight honor on both bars and beam and her fourth-consecutive vault award. The reigning Mountain West Gymnast of the Year has won 19-straight weekly gymnast awards and Slife's running total of weekly conference superlatives currently sits at 35.
