GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Rising Air Force senior gymnast Maggie Slife was named an Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators this week, as the association announced its 2026 Academic All-America Division I Women's At-Large Team. With third-team status, Slife is the first member of the women's gymnastics team to earn Academic All-America distinction from the CSC (formerly CoSIDA).
Slife, who holds a 3.60 GPA in behavioral science, is coming off a stellar junior campaign, where she became the first gymnast to represent the Academy at the NCAA Championships. Repeating as the Mountain West Gymnast of the Year, the Oconomowoc, Wis., native finished the 2026 season as the top-ranked gymnast across all four events and was the conference's Specialist of the Year on each apparatus. Setting the MW Record in the all-around three times, Slife was a WCGA Regular Season (first team) and Post Season (second team) All-American.
The 45 members of the CSC Academic All-America Women's At-Large Team are student-athletes from beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, water polo, and wrestling.
