No Ceiling for the Falcons:
Three times in 2026 and four times in the past two seasons, Air Force has broken its all-time record score. Air Force finished with a 195.800 on Feb. 6 to beat Utah State and Alaska Anchorage at home, then topped the record again on Feb. 22, scoring a 196.300 in a road win over host San Jose State and UC Davis. On Friday, the Falcons did it again, posting a 196.425 in a second-place finish at home against DU (196.725) and San Jose State (195.725).
Air Force in the Rankings:
Currently ranked 34th in the nation and third in the MW (195.444), Air Force falls in at 40th nationally on vault (48.797 – third in MW), 35th on bars (48.838 – second in MW), 34th on beam (48.831 – third in MW) and 36th on floor (48.991 – second in MW).
This Week in the Awards:
On March 10, for the ninth-straight time this season, junior all-arounder Maggie Slife was named Mountain West Gymnast of the Week, while additionally adding Specialist of the Week honors on vault, uneven bars and balance beam.
In the March 6 triangular versus San Jose State and Denver, Slife scored a 39.650 as an all-arounder to tie the all-time program record. Contributing to that score were meet-high tallies on the uneven bars (9.975), balance beam (9.925) and floor exercise (9.900). With those scores, the junior helped Air Force to a program-record 196.425 and a share of its first-ever Mountain West regular-season title.
In Monday's dual at DU, Slife recorded at least a share of the Falcons' top scores on the vault (9.925), uneven bars (9.850), and balance beam (9.825), while winning the all-around with a 39.475.
With the Tuesday announcement, Slife collects her ninth Gymnast of the Week honor this season, a ninth-straight honor on both bars and beam and her fourth-consecutive vault award. The reigning Mountain West Gymnast of the Year has won 19-straight weekly gymnast awards and Slife's running total of weekly conference superlatives currently sits at 35.
On March 9, Air Force closed out the road portion of the regular season with a 195.925 performance against No. 23 Denver this evening (March 9) at Magness Arena. The Falcons, facing the Pioneers for the second time in four days, posted their second-highest scores of the year on the vault (49.025) and floor exercise (49.250).
Contributing to the Falcons' vault tally was another Air Force record-matching 9.925 from junior Maggie Slife, who finished second in the 12-gymanst field. The junior, who took first in the all-around with a 39.475, was one of two Academy gymnasts to place within the top six of the vault, as sophomore Alyssa Bigler added a fourth-place score of 9.850.
Bigler also helped Air Force to its 49.250 finish on the floor exercise, as she and senior Kylee Greene tied for third with matching 9.900 scores. That tally marked a career-high for Greene and the fourth time this season that Bigler has registered a score of at least 9.900 on the floor.
Freshman Erin McDermott also collected a top-three finish on Monday night, scoring a 9.825 – the second-highest score of her career – to tie with Slife for third on the balance beam. In addition to her top-three finishes on the vault and beam, Slife rounded out the Falcons' list of event leaders with a fourth-place tally of 9.850 on the uneven bars – a finish that paced Air Force to a trio of top-six finishes, as junior Chelsea Boyer and Greene tied for fifth with a pair of 9.825 scores.
Looking Ahead:
Following Senior Day, Air Force Gymnastics sets its sights on the 2026 Mountain West Conference Championship, set for Saturday, March 21 at ExtraMile Arena in Boise, Idaho.
