Men's Swim and Dive Ends First Day of Competition Against BYU & Colorado Mesa

PROVO, Utah., - The Falcons ended the first day of competition behind Colorado Mesa (87-80) and BYU (120-47) on Friday evening at the Richards Building Pool.

With his time of 1:59.44, Tanner Wilson claimed silver in the 200 breast with teammate Brandon Cho in third at 2:00.14. Anthony Sebastian closed the top five with a 2:00.93 swim.

Joe Christ touched the wall at 4:33.21 in the 500 free to place second. At 4:37.69, Evan Witte finished in fourth.

On the diving side, Brady Nichol earned third with a score of 309.60.

Freshman Matthew Doty picked up a third-place finish in the 400 IM at 3:59.26.

For third in the 100 fly, James Winterfield swam a 49.37 and was followed by Jordan Falls in fourth (48.50).

Christ placed highest for Air Force in fifth at 44.84 in the 100 free, while Falls followed in sixth (44.91).

In the 100 back, Garrett Kennedy (49.98), Dylan Ferguson (50.05), and Louie Body (50.32) rounded out the top ten of the race.

The 400 free relay team comprised of Winterfield, Christ, Doty, and Kennedy took third at 3:00.94.

The Falcons will complete their duals against BYU and Colorado Mesa on Saturday January 24 at 11 a.m. MT.
