
Genest named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force freshman winger Oliver Genest was named the Atlantic Hockey America Rookie of the Week in helping Air Force take four of six points from Mercyhurst, Feb. 13-14, at Cadet Ice Arena.
In the first game vs. the Lakers, Genest scored his first career collegiate goal in the second period to tie the game at 1-1. He added two more goals later in the second period for the first hat trick by a Falcon since Austin Schwartz vs. Robert Morris, Feb. 21, 2025. In the two-game series, he was a +2 and had six shots on goal.
The weekly award is the first of Genest's collegiate career. It is the 10th weekly award earned by Air Force this season and the second rookie of the week honor.
Air Force (15-12-3, 11-9-2 AHA) hosts Army in a two-game league series, Friday-Saturday, Feb. 20-21, at Cadet Ice Arena.
