HOUSTON, TX., - The Falcons capped off their time at the Mountain West Championships with a final score of 811.5 to place sixth overall at CRWC Natatorium on Saturday evening. Air Force finished two placements higher than last year and scored their most points since 2022-23. Over the course of the championship meet, the Falcons combined to break six records, with a trio on the final day.
"This team had an absolutely amazing season, they leveled up in every way this year," expressed head coach Colleen Murphy. "We had a great team atmosphere, our work ethic was unmatched, and we were surrounded in a supportive team culture. They deserve all this success, and I am so proud of this team."
The 400 free relay team of Ryan Mills, Sadie Hartig, Hannah Seal, and Lily Larson broke the Academy record with a time of 3:20.43, placing eighth. Larson and Mills were members of the previous record, 3:21.03, that was set in 2024. Mills' lead off time of 49.88 sits her at second all-time.
Individually, Larson claimed Air Force's 100 free record with a time of 49.67, beating out the previous record of 49.72 set in 2018. With her new top time, the sophomore placed tenth in the event finals.
On the platform, Lexi Gregory earned a score of 279.80 to take over the previous record of 266.65 that was set six years ago. With her score, the freshman collected a fifth-place finish, her second of the conference meet. This marks the second year in a row that a C4C has broken an Air Force diving record at the MW Championships.
Naomi Furman recorded a time of 2:13.08 in the 200 breast, taking the ninth spot while Maeve Linscott (2:16.12) and Mandy Fleetwood (2:16.37) went for 14th and 15th, respectively.
In the 1650 free, freshman Abby Miller touched the wall at 16:52.98 for ninth place and stays in the eighth all-time spot. Katie Andrist went 16:55.79 for 13th place.
For 13th place in the 200 back and the third best time in Air Force history, Sadie Hartig logged a time of 1:58.14. Elizabeth Sistrunk clocked a 2:00.90 in finals for 16th after swimming a 1:59.57 in prelims to shift up in the top ten all-time list.
