USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis dropped a 6-1 contest to Northern Arizona (6-4) Sunday morning at the USAFA Indoor Tennis Courts.
Senior AJ Moore led the Falcons with the win in singles. Moore won at No. 3 over Takumi Katsuda, taking the match in straight sets with tiebreaker wins in both, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (5).
In doubles, the Falcons fell at No. 1 and No. 2 to drop the point.
In singles, Jack Brown fell at No. 1 in three sets, as did Phillip Deaton at No. 2.
"Obviously, the team is disappointed with the result from today, but the guys competed hard and we put ourselves in positions to win," head coach Evan Urbina said. "AJ stayed resilient after losing a big lead in the first, and Jack and Phil forced third sets. We will keep working on finishing points, and be ready for the tough competition next weekend. We're excited to attack practice this week and improve. Go Falcons!"
Air Force returns to action with a pair of home matches next weekend, hosting Big 12 opponent BYU on Saturday Feb. 28 and Denver on Sunday, March 1.
