Falcons Head to Boulder for Colorado Classic

The Air Force track and field team heads to Boulder for the third – and final – time of the indoor season this weekend to take on its Front Range counterparts at the Colorado Invitational. The two-day event, which will include the field events on Friday, Feb. 6, and running events on Saturday, Feb. 7, will take place at the Ford Indoor Practice Facility on Colorado's campus.

MEET INFORMATION
The Colorado Classic will be held at the Ford Indoor Practice Facility on the east side of Folsom Field. All six field events will take place on Friday, while the running events will take place on Saturday [a tentative schedule of events is listed below]. Tickets can be purchased online at CUBuffs.com. Only water is allowed inside the IPF and spectators must adhere to Colorado's "Clear Bag Policy". Live results will be available. Air Force highlights will be posted on the team's official social media accounts [@af_tfxc].

FRIDAY – 12:00 pm: Women's Pole Vault, followed by Men's Pole Vault; 12:00 pm: Women's Long Jump, followed by Men's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump; 12:00 pm: Men's High Jump, followed by Women's High Jump; 12:00 pm: Women's Weight Throw, followed by Men's Weight Throw; 12:00 pm: Men's Shot Put, followed by Women's Shot Put; SATURDAY – 11:00 am: 60-Meter Hurdles [prelim], 60-Meter Dash [prelim], Mile Run, 5000-Meter Run, 60-Meter Hurdles, 60-Meter Dash, 400-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 200-Meter Dash, 3000-Meter Run, 4x400-Meter Relay [unless noted, men will compete first in all running events]
MEN RANKED AMONG NATION'S TOP 30 FOR SECOND-STRAIGHT WEEK
The men are ranked No. 28 in the Feb. 3 edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Rating Index Checkpoint – marking the first time since the end of the 2016 season that they have held Top 30 rankings in back-to-back weeks. To date, the men have been listed among the nation's top 30 nine times since 2000.
AIR FORCE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Texas Tanner is ranked among the nation's top three in both the weight throw and shot put. His 24.18-meter distance in the weight throw is No. 2 in the NCAA this season, while his 19.83-meter throw in the shot put is No. 3.
SQUAD GOALS
The Falcons have five event groups with Top 30 rankings in the Feb. 3 installment of the USTFCCCA #EventSquad Rankings – which are determined by the cumulative season-best marks from a team's top-four athletes in the national descending order list. The men hold top-20 marks in the weight throw [No. 16, 74.90 meters], shot put [No. 17, 66.39 meters] and pole vault [No. 19, 19.61 meters], while women are listed No. 26 in the high jump [6.62 meters] and No. 28 in the pole vault [14.84 meters].
FALCON DUO CLAIM WEEKLY MOUNTAIN WEST AWARDS
02.03.26 | Following an impressive weekend against some of the nation's elite at the DeLoss Dodds Invitational, Texas Tanner was named the Mountain West Field Athlete of the Week and Zachary DeWalt was named the MW Freshman of the Week on Feb. 3. It is the eighth conference honor for Tanner and the first for DeWalt.
MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS NOW ON SALE
Tickets for the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships are now on sale at TheMW.com [a direct link is available on the Falcons' schedule page]. The championships will make its debut at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Nevada over the Feb. 26-28 weekend.
WHAT'S ON DECK
Air Force will split for a pair of meets next weekend [Feb. 13-14], as the distance runners travel to Seattle, Wash., for the annual Husky Classic and the rest of the squad heads to Lubbock, Texas, for the Jarvis Scott Invitational.
