Texas Tanner Nabs First All-America Honor of 2026

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Texas Tanner captured the first All-America honor of his senior season this afternoon (March 13), as he wrapped up the opening day of competition with second-team status in the weight throw at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Behind a distance of 21.39 meters (70'2¼") on his second attempt, Tanner finished 14th in the national final. With his 32nd career throw of at least 21 meters, Tanner claimed his first All-America citation in the weight throw after earning honorable mention recognition last year.
Tanner returns to the throwing circle at the Randal Tyson Track Center tomorrow (March 14) afternoon for the finals of the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Action is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. (CT).
