COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force senior Texas Tanner was named the Men's Field Performer of the Meet at the conclusion of the Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships Tanner was one of eight Falcons recognized by the conference office this morning (March 4), as they formally announced the award winners and all-conference honorees from last week's championship meet.
Tanner, who has also earned that award at each of the last two MW Outdoor Championships, is the first Falcon to earn Performer of the Meet honors three times in a career, betting the previous best of two that he shared with Jamiel Trimble (2016, 2017).
The senior rolled through the throwing titles at the MW Indoor Championships, becoming just the sixth thrower in conference history to sweep the shot put and weight throw titles. Tanner opened the weekend with his first weight throw title on Feb. 27, recording a throw of 23.31 meters (75'5¾) to better the field by nearly two meters and account for the second-best throw in MW Championship history, before capturing his first shot put title the following day with a throw of 19.18 meters (62'11¼) – the best throw at the conference championships in eight year.

In addition to the major championship awards, the Mountain West also recognized the individuals and relays that captured all-conference status by placing within the top three of their respective events at the championship meet. Headlined by Tanner's two titles, the Falcons collected nine all-conference accolades at the 2026 championship meet.
Backed by runner-up finishes from junior Liliane Aittama (800-meter run) and sophomore Morgan Glaser (high jump), the women accounted for four all-conference awards – the second-highest indoor total for the women since joining the Mountain West. Aittama led the women to a 2-3 finish in the final, as classmate Camryn Bodine placed third. The pair brought the Falcons' total of 800-meter all-conference runners to five, with Aittama capturing her second all-MW award after placing third in 2024. Glaser earned the program's fourth indoor high jump honor, while sophomore Ella Pears and the junior trio of Rachel Fereday, Scarlet Fetterolf, and Anna Harden captured bronze medal honors in the distance medley relay for the women's 10th trip to the podium in that event.
While Tanner led the men with a pair of titles in the throws, the Falcons collected three additional all-conference medals. Senior Jettason Rose earned a runner-up finish in the 200-meter dash for the program's 19th indoor medal in that event, while classmate Jayden Nats placed third in the 3000-meter run and junior Tanner Woodring tied for third in the pole vault. Nats' bronze medal marked the 17th time Air Force has earned an all-conference finish for 3000 meters, while Woodring accounted for the 21st indoor championship that the Falcons have sent a pole vaulter to the podium.
