
Air Force Advances to ASUN Finals with 13-12 Win Over Utah

JACKSONVILLE – The third-seeded Falcons are advancing to the ASUN Conference Championship finals for the second-straight year after downing No. 2 Utah, 13-12, Friday evening at Rock Stadium. Air Force (7-7), on a five-game win streak, will take on top-seeded host Jacksonville for the championship on Sunday afternoon.
Junior midfielder Henry Spencer had a career day scoring a personal best three goals on three shot attempts to inspire an Air Force comeback in the second half. The Falcons, trailing by as much as four goals in the third quarter, rallied to the win in the fourth quarter.
Air Force goals leader Caelan Driggs scored two goals on a game-high 10 shots. Senior midfielder and All-ASUN first-teamer Cole Rassas scored a pair of goals on seven shot attempts. Sophomore Alex Rismani scored two goals and dished an assist to Jake Mason who finished with one goal.
Other Falcons to score were ASUN All-Freshman selection Christian Schweiger (1g, 2a), All-ASUN first teamer Cole Cunningham (1g), and ASUN second teamer Luke Vrsansky (1g) who scored the eventual game-winner. Cunningham alongside All-ASUN first team defenseman Charlie Pyfer and face off specialist Seth Aliveto picked up four ground balls each. Aliveto won nine attempts in 19 appearances at center X.
Senior goalie Nolan Parlette, on a four-game win streak, remains undefeated while starting in the Falcons' goal (4-0). He made 13 saves and picked up three ground balls on the day.
The Falcons will look to make good on a 16-10 loss to Jacksonville earlier this season. Action at Rock Stadium is slated for a 1 pm ET start. JU is coming in hot off an 18-3 routing of Mercer in the first semifinal game. Last time the teams played in the playoffs, AF downed JU, 15-12.
