fU.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo., - The Falcons (2-0-0) claimed their second strong win of the season, defeating Creighton (0-2-0), 3-1, Sunday afternoon inside the Holaday Athletic Center.

Despite being outshot 21-8, Air Force capitalized on its opportunities, scoring three goals from Addie Doyle, Ellie McCarron and Gianna Gigliotti. Doyle tallied a pair of shots on goal, while Mai Mateaki, Gigliotti, Teigland and McCarron each recorded one.
In goal, Sydney Nelms turned in a standout performance, making eight saves for a .889 save percentage and earning the victory.

Doyle opened the scoring in the 19th minute, dribbling through the Bluejays' defense before finding the back of the net to give Air Force a 1-0 advantage. Creighton answered just three minutes later, leveling the match at 1-1 at the 22^'mark.

The Falcons regained the lead in the 32nd when Nalei Shannon delivered a cross to McCarron, who powered home the first collegiate goal of her career to put Air Force ahead, 2-1.

Creighton registered two more shots on goal before the Falcons struck again just before halftime. At 43', Gigliotti found the back of the net off a corner kick for her first career goal, sending Air Force into the break with a 3-1 advantage.

The Bluejays controlled much of the second half and continued to pressure the Falcons, but Air Force's defense held firm to preserve the two-goal victory.

The Falcons will hit the road for the first time this season when they travel east to face service academy foe Navy in Annapolis, Md., Thursday, Aug. 20. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET/5 p.m. MT.
