Falcon Men’s Soccer Shuts Marist Out, Plays to Draw

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Air Force played Marist to a draw at nil, securing the first shutout of the season and second positive result of the week. The Falcons and Red Foxes are now 0-0-2 in the early season.

Freshman goalie Hunter Anderson was exceptional in goal, making 10 saves in his first career shutout. The last time an AF keeper made 10 saves was September 1, 2024. The Freshman from Stevens Lake, Washington, concluded his opening week of collegiate soccer with a pair of draws.

The Falcons attempted nine shots on the match, four of which were blocked, denying AF any shots on goal. Menes Ajyeman led AF with three shot attempts while Braedon Gehring attempted two. Team captains Oliver Becker and Tucker Kern attempted a shot each alongside teammates C1C Logan Zaa and C4C Hector Orozco with an attempt each.

Three Red Foxes attempted three shots apiece while all three of Chris Verheul's attempts were on target but saved by Anderson.

Next up, The Falcons open Cadet Soccer Stadium for the first time of the 2026 campaign, hosting UC San Diego on Sunday, August 30. Kick off is scheduled for 1 pm MT at USAFA. The matchup will mark the third meeting between the teams with the Tritons leading the series, 2-0.
