Air Force women's soccer (3-1-0) battled Texas A&M (3-2-0) from start to finish Thursday night but ultimately fell 2-1 at Ellis Field. The Falcons recorded 16 shots, including eight on goal.
Annika Jost continued her strong start to the season, scoring her third goal of the year on a 54th-minute penalty kick to cut the deficit to 2-1. Senior Kendall Rippley added a career-high four shots on goal, while goalkeeper Sydney Nelms made a season-best nine saves.
Air Force came out firing, putting five shots on target in the opening 20 minutes, but Texas A&M struck twice in the first half to take a 2-0 lead. The Falcons answered after halftime when Jost buried her penalty kick in the top-left corner. Air Force continued to press for the equalizer, but the Aggies held off the late push to secure the 2-1 victory.

Junior Annika Jost has wasted no time making her mark in 2026, already tallying nine points on three goals and two assists. Two of her goals have been game-winners, and she added a penalty kick, putting her sixth nationally in game-winning goals and 33rd in the country with 2.00 points per game. Most recently, Jost delivered from the spot at Texas A&M, converting a penalty kick to keep the Falcons within striking distance and prevent the shutout.
NELMS IN THE NET
Sophomore Sydney Nelms has started three matches, totaling 270 minutes on the season. She recorded her first career shutout in Air Force's 4-0 win over Navy, making six saves to earn her second win of the season. Nelms made eight saves against Creighton while allowing one goal for an .889 save percentage, then posted a season-high nine saves against Texas A&M despite allowing two goals.
DEFENSIVE DILLINGHAM
C2C Jordan Dillingham has made an impact on both sides of the ball to start the 2026 season, totaling 339 minutes, two goals and three shots. The center back was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week following Air Force's 4-0 shutout victory over Navy, where she played all 90 minutes and anchored the Falcons' defense. Dillingham also scored her second goal of the season in the 57th minute off a corner kick, helping secure the clean-sheet victory.

North Texas holds a record of 2-1-1 after defeating ULM (1-0) and McNeese (4-2). They fell to SMU (2-0) and most recently tied Oral Roberts 1-1. So far, Claire Niedermeier leads the Mean Green's offense with five goals for 10 points, while Rydlii Rives scored their other goal.
