SOPHOMORE | 2019-20: Member of the 2020 WAC Champion 200 and 400 medley relay teams…Both times in the medley relays were new school records…Had the second-fastest 100 (47.47) and 200 (1:47.40) fly times on the team…100 fly time was the fourth-quickest in Academy history…Also had the fourth-fastest 100 back (49.60) time on the team…Placed fifth in the 100 and 200 fly, as well as 12th in the 100 back at the 2020 WAC Championships…Named to the AD’s list.
FRESHMAN | 2018-19: Named to the Western Athletic Conference All-Academic Team…Finished with the team’s top time on the season in the 100 fly (47.80), which was the fifth-best time in program history…Also had the team’s second fastest 200 fly (1:47.27), which was also the fifth-best in Academy history…Had the third quickest 100 back on the team (50.05) while also being a member of the team’s top 200 and 400 medley relay squads…At the 2019 WAC Championships, placed eighth in the 100 fly and ninth in the 200 fly.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Was a four year letterwinner for Aliso Niguel High School, while also swimming club for Irvine Novaquatics…Holds his school’s records in the 100 fly, 200 medley relay, and 400 free relay…Attended both Winter and Summer Junior Nationals, and placed sixth in the 200 fly and seventh in the 100 fly at Winter’s…Graduated as part of the Valedictorian Section for his high school after maintaining a GPA over a 4.0.
PERSONAL: Son of Brian and Agnes Pang…Has one older sister, Kaitlin…Undecided on a major, but plans on becoming a pilot…Lists his greatest moment in sports as making two ‘A’ finals for Winter Juniors, and scoring the second-most points for his team, which brought over 30 swimmers…Hobbies include surfing, listening to music, and hanging out with family and friends…Chose the Academy because “I came to be a pilot, participate in a Division I program, and receive opportunities no one else can.”
