SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2018: Received the team’s Amy Svoboda Award...saw action in 14 sets...accounted for three digs and one service ace on the year...registered one dig and the ace against Nevada...also accounted for digs in season opener at UNC Greensboro and during a home contest against Maryland Eastern Shore.
FRESHMAN YEAR | 2017: Participated in 27 sets...was a member of the starting rotation for three matches...recorded six digs, two service aces, one assist and one kill on the year...collected a season-best three digs and one kill in against Arkansas-Pine Bluff...closed out year with aces in back-to-back matches against New Mexico and UNLV.
HIGH SCHOOL | CLUB TEAM: Thatcher High School...four-year letterwinner in volleyball...coached by Ellen Robertson...earned Player of the Year honors at the divisional and sectional levels in 2015...also claimed first-team honors at both levels that year...member of two 2A state championship teams (2014, 2015)...named an All-American by The Dairy Council of Arizona and the Arizona Coaches’ Association...also lettered one year in basketball...named the THS Student-Athlete of the Year in 2016...member of the National Honor Society...named to the Dean’s List all four years...played at the club level for Gila Valley Juniors...also played in the open division for Sky Volleyball and EVJ Volleyball...member of the EVJ squad that finished second at the Reno Open Qualifiers in 2015.
PERSONAL: Full name is Kelly Lee Motes...daughter of Erin and Becky Motes...father played football and Northern Arizona University and mother played volleyball at BYU-Hawaii...has one older sister, Chelcy (Chatwin), who played volleyball at Sacramento State...also has one older brother, Presley, who is a member of the football team at Bowling Green State University...majoring in geospatial science...future plans include working in the Intelligence field...member of Cadet Squadron 23.
