Stacy McIntyre has continued to build a strong and experienced coaching staff for the Air Force Falcons women's basketball program with the return of Rynae Rasley, announced on June 27, 2024.
A proven leader with deep institutional knowledge, Rasley returns to the United States Air Force Academy after previously serving three seasons (2016–19) as an assistant coach under Chris Gobrecht, followed by five successful years as head coach of the Air Force Academy Preparatory School.
“I’m excited to be back on the Hill and part of this new journey with our Falcons,” said Rasley. “I’m grateful to Coach McIntyre for the opportunity and honored to continue developing some of our nation’s finest young women.”
“Rynae brings a unique understanding of the Academy, our culture, and our style of play,” McIntyre said. “Her experience across multiple levels, combined with her existing relationships with our cadet-athletes, makes her an invaluable addition to our staff.”
Rasley’s impact on the program has already been significant. During her tenure leading the prep school program, she developed seven student-athletes who advanced to the Division I roster, including current contributors Emily Adams, Marissa Hargrave, and Jayda McNabb. Collectively, her former prep players have accounted for 65 Division I starts and contributed to multiple entries in the program’s record book. McNabb’s standout freshman campaign included setting the Air Force freshman record for rebounds while finishing among the top five in program history in both steals and blocks for a first-year player.
As a member of McIntyre’s staff, Rasley has helped guide one of the most successful stretches in Air Force’s Division I era. During the 2024–25 season, the Falcons recorded the second-best overall record in program history at the Division I level and earned a postseason berth in the Women's National Invitation Tournament. That season was highlighted by Jo Huntimer’s program-record 150 assists, and Madison Smith being named to both All-Mountain West team, and All-Defensive team.
The momentum continued into the 2025–26 campaign, as Air Force produced another historic season. Jayda McNabb was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, while Milahnie Perry became the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,740 career points. The Falcons advanced to the championship game of the Mountain West Women's Basketball Tournament—the deepest run in program history— before finishing as runner-up to Colorado State Rams. The postseason success secured a second consecutive WNIT appearance, marking back-to-back postseason berths for the program.
Rasley’s original tenure at Air Force also coincided with a pivotal period of program growth. In 2017–18, the Falcons recorded five Mountain West victories—at the time a program benchmark— including a signature 57–47 win over then-first-place Wyoming. That season saw Air Force establish five team records, including defensive marks of 62.3 points allowed per game overall and 59.7 in conference play, while holding opponents under 60 points 11 times. The Falcons also produced six individual school records, highlighted by Kaelin Immel earning the program’s first-ever Mountain West Freshman of the Year honor.
Since that foundational period, Air Force has accumulated 42 conference wins and finished ninth or better in six of the past seven seasons, underscoring the sustained competitiveness of the program.
Prior to her time at the Academy, Rasley spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Nyack College (Division II), where she managed recruiting operations, travel logistics, budgeting, player development, and the team’s strength and conditioning program.
She began her coaching career at City College of New York as an assistant coach and administrator for the Beavers, where she contributed to all facets of program operations and student-athlete development. Rasley was responsible for recruiting, overseeing the team’s strength and conditioning program, and supporting academic success initiatives. In addition, she played a key role in coordinating team travel, scheduling, and compliance, while supporting departmental operations across 17 NCAA sports.
As a student-athlete, Rasley competed at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, leading the program to back-to-back Region I Division II championships and national rankings of No. 7 and No. 13. She concluded her collegiate career at The City College of New York, where she averaged 10ppg/6apg, and was named a CUNYAC All-Star in track and field.
Rasley holds a Bachelor of Arts from City College (2011) and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Nyack College (2015).
