Kim Haas is in her sixth season as a volunteer coach for the Air Force volleyball team. The club and beach director for the Coalition Volleyball Club in Colorado Springs, Haas brings an impressive background to the Academy program, as both a player and coach.
Prior to joining the Falcons’ staff in 2018, Haas spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at her alma mater, UCCS. She also spent two years as a head coach at Coalition, before taking the position of coaching director. Haas, who served as a head coach for the Colorado Springs Altitude Volleyball Club (2013-17) and as an assistant at Colorado Classix Volleyball Club (2012-13), also served as a coach at several college camps around the state, including Air Force, UCCS and Colorado State. In addition to coaching volleyball, Haas spent two years as a graduate assistant athletic performance specialist at UCCS and as a strength and conditioning intern at 365 Performance.
Haas had a strong playing career at UCCS, capturing All-Region honors from the D2CCA (second team) and AVCA (all-south central) as a senior. A two-time team captain and two-time first-team All-RMAC selection, she also excelled in the classroom, capturing the RMAC Academic Player of the Year and Scholar Athlete awards in 2016. Haas, who also claimed a pair of first-team academic all-conference honors while playing for the Mountain Lions, was a member of the USA Athletes International Team that traveled to Costa Rica in 2013.
A native of Fort Collins, Colo., Haas received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from UCCS. After earning a bachelor’s degree in health care science, with a focus on strength and conditioning, in 2017, she completed her master’s in strength and conditioning in 2018.
