Water Polo Splits In Annapolis

The Falcons fell, 8-5, in their first of two scheduled inter-service match-ups against Navy Saturday in Annapolis, Md. Air Force also faced George Washington University and defeated the Colonials, 10-5.
Against Navy, C3C (So.) Micah Peterson led the Falcons in scoring with two goals, followed by C1C (Sr.) David Breitenbach, C3C Scott Butler and C2C (Jr.) Chris Smith who each netted one. Breitenbach and C2C Charles Horn each had one in the assist category while Smith and Peterson collected three steals each. In goal, C3C Brandon Shroyer had six saves.
Butler led the team in scoring with four against George Washington along with Smith who netted three. Breitenbach, Peterson and C4C (Fr.) Josh Shadrick each had one. In assists, Smith led the team with three followed by Butler and C1C Ben Couchman with two. On steals, Peterson had five and in goal, Shroyer managed five saves.
The Falcons will face Navy again at the Air Force Invitational, Oct 27-28, at the Cadet Gymnasium's Natatorium. Air Force is in action again this weekend, Oct. 13-14, at the Northern California Tournament in Palo Alto hosted by Stanford.
