Falcons Gain First-Ever Victory Over Navy, 85-69

For the first time in Falcon history, the Air Force women's basketball team defeated Navy, 85-69. It was the Falcons' second-highest scoring output since moving to Division I and capped a weekend that saw victories over both service academies.
Three players notched double figures, led by Amoy Jackson who had 16 points. Jackson was 14-of-16 from the free throw line. Rozalyn Russ added 15 points, her highest total since coming back from a broken hand. Tomlinson added 11 points, marking her second straight game in double figures. Three players - Jackson, Russ and Emily Gross - had six rebounds. ShaNekia Peebles and Latoya Howell each had four steals.
The Falcons led by six points at the half, but Navy opened the second half with five quick points to cut the lead to one. Air Force then scored 18 consecutive points to take a commanding lead. They led by as many as 26 points in the game.
Navy was led by Courtney Davidson, who scored 26 points in the game. Bryanna Herring added 13 points, while Nikki Curtis and Maile Shimoda each had nine points.
Air Force (4-9, 0-0 MWC) will look to extend its home winning streak to four games when it hosts New Mexico on Jan. 12. It will be the team's Mountain West Conference opener.
