Colorado Springs, Colo. - Air Force sophomore Tim Keller was selected to the 2002-03 All-Mountain West Conference third-team by league coaches and media. Keller, who helped the Falcons post the most wins in one season by an Air Force team since the 1989-90 campaign, is one of three sophomores on this year's all-league teams. Junior Joel Gerlach earned honorable mention.
Keller averaged 15.3 points in AFA's 14 conference games. He connected on 41.3 percent of his three-point attempts, and was second in the league in free throw percentage (conference games only) at 87.3 percent. He is the second Air Force player to earn an All-MWC selection, as Jarvis Croff was a second-team pick in 2000.
Air Force is 12-15 overall and finished 3-11 in league play. The Falcons will face top-seeded Utah in the first round of this week's MWC Tournament. Utah led all conference teams with four all-conference selections. BYU had the second-most honorees with three, followed by UNLV and Wyoming with two and New Mexico, San Diego State, Colorado State and Air Force with one.
The league's eight men's head coaches along with a selected media panel picked the all-conference teams, coach, player, freshman and defensive awards.
Gerlach, who averaged 10.9 points per game in conference play and has scored in double figures in his last five games, earned all-MWC honorable mention for the second consecutive season.
