Junior Tim Keller went six-for-eight from three-point range and scored a game-high 22 points as Air Force won its third consecutive game on its European trip Wednesday, defeating Danish Elite Club team Horsholm, 69-48.
"It's hard to play three nights in a row," said Air Force head coach Joe Scott. "It showed as we were a little rusty early, but we also had some periods where we played our best basketball so far this trip."
Keller scored 15 of his points in the first half as the Falcons pulled away with a 20-3 run to open the second quarter to take a 36-16 advantage midway through the stanza. Keller had nine points in the run, while sophomore Antoine Hood scored the first five points of the quarter.
The Falcons again shot well from the floor, making 24 of their 47 shots, including 11-of-30 from beyond the arc.
Sophomore Nick Welch and junior Caleb Buchanan also reached double figures for Air Force with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Welch once again led the team with eight rebounds while Buchanan added two assists and two steals.
"Caleb and Marcus Jenkins played really well tonight, "said Scott. "They are getting better each time out and Caleb is always looking more comfortable on the court."
Jenkins finished the game with four points and three rebounds. Senior Joel Gerlach scored nine points, all in the second half.
The Falcons play their fourth game in four nights on Thursday with a rematch against Swedish team Malbas, who Air Force beat, 72-45, on Tuesday.
