After two competitions at home, the Air Force men's gymnastics team heads back out on the road this weekend. The No. 16 Falcons will travel to Lincoln, Neb., for a tri-meet with No. 2 Oklahoma and hosting No. 8 Nebraska on Friday, March 12. In their final meet of the season before the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championships, the three teams will face off at 7 p.m. in the indoor track area of Devaney Sports Center.
The Falcons are coming off of a two-meet home stand, where they posted the highest scores of the season on the still rings, parallel bars, pommel horse and high bar. Air Force garnered a team total of 208.300, which is also the best score of the year.
Sophomore Greg Stine (Houston, Texas) continues to lead the team and is currently the only Falcon to record top-five averages in the conference. Stine is fifth in the MPSF on the still rings with a mark of 9.508 and also fifth in the all-around, averaging a 52.883.
Nationally, Stine is tied for ninth on the still rings, while co-captain Jeff Andersen (Marietta, Ga.) is ranked 12th. Both are also ranked in the all-around, as Stine is 13th and Andersen is 15th.
