Jessa Liegl Named MPSF Gymnast of the Week

WOODLAND, Calif. - For the third time this season, Air Force junior gymnast Jessa Liegl (Lincoln, Neb.) was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week, the league office announced on March 15.
Liegl earned the honor after a record-setting week against Rhode Island. Liegl won the vault by tying an Air Force event record of 9.900 for the second time this season. She also won the bars with a season-high tying score of 9.850, en route to winning the all-around with a career-best Academy record score of 39.475. Liegl also recorded a 9.875 on the floor.
The junior, who is ranked first in the conference on the vault and in the all-around, second on the beam and floor and third on the bars, helped the Falcons set new team records on the vault (49.000) and beam (49.150), as well as setting the best team score in school history (195.675).
