Falcons Fall to Eighth-Ranked Huskers

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The No. 17 Air Force men's gymnastics team dropped a 215.450-195.350 decision to eighth-ranked Nebraska on Sunday, March 13, in Lincoln, Neb. A different member of the Falcons' squad was the top finisher on every event.
Sophomore Ryan Stromstad (Corona, Calif.) led the Falcons with a 9.050 on the floor exercise for a third-place finish -- the only Falcon to break into the top-seven. Freshman Brian Boardman (Naperville, Ill.) notched an 8.250 to finish sixth on the pommel horse.
Sophomore Kurt Antonio (Rio Rancho, N.M.) was the top finisher on the still rings, scoring an 8.100 to finish seventh, while senior Kent Reichle (Cambridge, Minn.) topped the team on the vault with a seventh-place score of 8.900.
Junior Eric Peele (Bethel, N.C.) topped the team on the parallel bars, taking sixth with a score of 8.600 -- a mark that matched his career high. And scoring an 8.250 on the high bar, sophomore Edwin Berry (El Cajon, Calif.) finished second on the apparatus with a career-high score.
The Falcons return to action next weekend with a pair of meets at Illinois-Chicago. The first contest is slated for 7 p.m., on Friday, March 18, while they close out the weekend on Sunday (March 20) with a 2 p.m. competition in Chicago, Ill.
