Air Force Heads To Conference Championship

The No. 18 Air Force men's gymnastics team heads to Norman, Okla., this weekend (March 25-26) for the 2005 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships. The two-day event opens on Friday with the team and all-around finals, before concluding on Saturday with the individual event finals.
The Falcons will face four of the nation's top-10 teams at the MPSF Championships, led by No. 2 Oklahoma. Also competing will be No. 6 Cal, No. 8 Stanford, No. 9 Nebraska.
The Falcons are coming off of a pair of road meets with Illinois-Chicago and Arizona State. Despite finishing third overall on Friday night, the Falcons did post the evening's second-best scores on the vault, parallel bars and high bar.
In addition, Kent Reichle (Cambridge, Minn.) led a trio of Falcons in the top-five of the vault with a third-place score of 9.000. Eric Peele (Bethel, N.C.) and Ryan Stromstad (Corona, Calif.) tied for fifth with matching scores of 8.900.
Air Force finished third on Sunday, as well, this time led by Stromstad, who finished third on the floor with a 9.150.
Following the league championships, the team will be off until April 15-16, when they travel to Ithaca, N.Y., for the 2005 USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships.
