The Air Force men's basketball team achieved its highest ranking in program history Monday when the Falcons were ranked No. 23 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll. Air Force's previous high was 25th in both the coaches' and Associated Press poll on March 8, 2004. That marked the first and only time the Falcons were ranked in either poll before Monday.
The Falcons are 8-1 this season and have defeated Stanford, Colorado and Wake Forest by at least 30 points. Their only loss this season was in the CBE Classic semifinals to Duke, which is ranked seventh in the AP poll and ninth in the coaches' poll.
Air Force, which received 40 votes in this week's AP poll, hosts Texas-Pan American on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
