Air Force Unable to Overtake Army

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Despite setting a season-best team total, the Air Force men's gymnastics team dropped a 205.550-181.250 decision to service academy rival Army on Friday, Feb. 3, in West Point, N.Y. The Falcons' team score was nearly 10 points higher than their previous season best, set two weeks ago at Oklahoma.
Senior Brian Moore finished second in the all-around with a score of 44.250, while junior Kurt Antonio was a close third, behind a mark of 44.200. Antonio led the team on the still rings with a score of 7.400.
Sophomore Brian Boardman, posted a pair of fifth-place finishes for Air Force, leading the team in both events. Boardman collected scores of 8.400 on the floor exercise and 7.400 on the pommel horse to finish fifth on both events. In addition, he was the Falcons' top scorer on the vault and parallel bars. Boardman garnered an 8.500 on the vault to finish sixth, while earning a 7.850 on the parallel bars to finish seventh.
Earning a seventh-place mark of 7.550 on the high bar, sophomore Jon Roberts led the squad on that apparatus.
