Three Air Force Players Earn WWPA Honors

Los Angeles, Calif. - Three Air Force water polo players were honored by the Western Water Polo Association, as the WWPA released its annual awards, voted on by the league's coaches. Senior team captains Clark Condict and Justin Berry garnered all-conference accolades, while Bobby Geiger was named to the WWPA All-Freshman team.
Condict, a native of Irvine, Calif., was named a first-team All-WWPA, after recording a team-high 53 goals during the regular season. Condict, the first Falcon to receive first-team all-conference honors since Scott Butler in 2003, currently ranks eighth in the Air Force record books with 231 career points. Condict also needs just two more goals to become one of the top-five goal scorers in Academy history.
Berry, a Windermere, Fla., native, was selected to the All-WWPA second team. Berry, who, along with Condict, ranks among the nation's scoring leaders, has notched 52 goals during the 2007 season. Meanwhile, Geiger, the Falcons' honoree on the inaugural All-Freshman team, has tallied 15 goals and eight assists during his rookie campaign.
UC Davis garnered honors for conference coach and player of the year. Steve Doten, who led his team to a school-record 20-6 overall mark and 15-0 record in the WWPA, was named WWPA Coach of the Year, while goalkeeper Mike McGee earned Player of the Year honors after finishing the regular season with 282 saves. In addition, Loyola Marymount goalkeeper Andy Stevens was named Newcomer of the Year.
The Falcons will host the Western Water Polo Association Championship this weekend, Nov. 16-18, at the Cadet Natatorium. Admission to all games is free.
