Worker named Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week

U.S.A.F. ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force goaltender Ben Worker was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the AHA quarterfinal victory over Holy Cross, March 10.
Worker, from Thief River Falls, Minn., recorded his third shutout in the last 12 games on in AFA's 3-0 win over the Crusaders at the Academy's Cadet Ice Arena. The win propelled Air Force into the AHA Final Four, March 16-17, in Rochester, N.Y.
The senior stopped all 17 shots he faced and has now won his last three starts (Canisius, AIC and Holy Cross). In those three starts, he has allowed just two goals. Worker raised his season goals-against average back over .900 (.902) and leads the team with six wins.
Air Force, 17-15-5 overall, is the fourth-seed in the AHA Final Four and will face top-seeded Sacred Heart (21-10-4 overall) on Friday, March 16, at 4 p.m. EDT at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y. The winner will face the winner of the Army-Connecticut game in the AHA championship game on Saturday, March 16, at 7 p.m. EDT. The winner of the AHA Tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
