Air Force lost to Wyoming, 67-62, last Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Tournament. Austin Peay lost to Eastern Kentucky, 63-62, on March 3 in the final of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.
Coaches
Air Force is coached by Jeff Bzdelik (Illinois-Chicago, 1976), who is in his second season as head coach. Bzdelik returned to the college game last year after 15 seasons as a coach and scout in the NBA, most recently as head coach of the Denver Nuggets. Bzdelik has a collegiate career record of 72-46, including a 47-15 mark at Air Force. Bzdelik was the head coach at UMBC for two years from 1986-88. Austin Peay is coached by Dave Loos (Memphis, 1969), who is in his 17th season with the Governors. He is 271-235 at the school and 353-288 in 20+ seasons in his career.
