Air Force defeated Georgia, 83-52, at Clune Arena on Monday in the second round of the NIT. DePaul downed Kansas State, 70-65, in Manhattan, Kan., on Monday in the second round of the NIT.
Coaches
Air Force is coached by Jeff Bzdelik (Illinois-Chicago, 1976), who is in his second season as head coach. Bzdelik returned to the college game last year after 15 seasons as a coach and scout in the NBA, most recently as head coach of the Denver Nuggets. Bzdelik has a collegiate career record of 74-46, including a 49-15 mark at Air Force. Bzdelik was the head coach at UMBC for two years from 1986-88. DePaul is coached by Jerry Wainwright (Colorado College, 1968), who is in his second season with the Blue Demons. He is 32-28 at the school and 218-172 in 12+ seasons in his career.

DePaul leads the all-time series, 3-0. The teams last played on Jan. 6, 1979, with DePaul winning 86-66, in Chicago, Ill. The first time the teams played was on March 7, 1960 in the NCAA Tournament. DePaul won that game, 69-63. The other matchup was on Feb. 22, 1978 and DePaul won, 54-41.
