SENIOR SALUTE: Following the conclusion of Monday's meet, the Air Force women's gymnastics team recognized its three senior-most gymnasts - Charlotte Freedman, Sashonna Iwaniec and Christine Powers - and senior manager Erica Pong.
AIR FORCE QUICK HITS: Air Force continues to improve its team total, as it posted a season-best 187.250 in its loss to Denver on March 26...the Falcons are ranked ninth in the NCAA North Central Region with a regional-qualifying-score of 186.275.
ALASKA-ANCHORAGE QUICK HITS: With a RQS of 187.645,
SEATTLE-PACIFIC QUICK HITS: Seattle-Pacific scored a 193.725 in a loss to Washington on March 23...that is the Falcons' fourth-best score ever and the best since 2003...Debra Huss leads the league on the balance beam, floor exercise and all-around.
UC-DAVIS QUICK HITS: The Aggies scored a season-best score of 193.150 to finish fourth at a quadrangular on March 23...UCD leads the conference on the vault, bars and beam, while amassing the best RQS at 192.275...individually, Tanya Ho and Lida Gehlen lead the MPSF on the vault and bars, respectively.
WHEN LAST WE MET: Air Force holds a 0-3 record against its conference foes. The Falcons dropped a decision to Seattle-Pacific on Feb. 2, before falling in a pair of home-and-home contests to UC-Davis on Feb. 4 and Feb. 16.
LAST TIME OUT: Air Force closed out the 2007 regular season by posting its best overall score of the year. Air Force's 187.250 wasn't enough to overcome
`RANK YOU VERY MUCH: With the switch to the rankings being determined by the Regional Qualifying Score, Air Force has just one gymnast ranked among the league's top-six. Senior Sashonna Iwaniec is ranked sixth in the conference's all-around standings with an RQS of 37.195.
