STATE COLLEGE,
Schonig matched his career-best score on the still rings (9.550) to tie for 11th - a finish that fell just shy of advancing to the individual event finals tomorrow night. In fact, his score was just .250 off of the event winner. After just two years of training on the still rings, Schonig has improved his personal high by over two points, while becoming one of the highest scoring Falcons at the national meet in over 10 years.
Stine competed in a pair of events. As the first competitor of the night, Stine scored an 8.600 on the floor exercise to finish in a tie for 43rd. He also secured a score of 9.200 on the still rings to tie for 30th.
Tonight marked the final night of the 2007 season for Air Force, which has improved dramatically over the course of the year, marked by two contenders at the national meet.
