Falcons Win Four Games During Alumni Weekend

USAFA, Colo. - The Air Force water polo team wrapped up its spring schedule last weekend, hosting the Rocky Mountain Invitational during its Alumni Weekend. The Falcons hosted a group of current seniors and alumni, along with Denver Masters and Utah.
In the first game of the weekend, Air Force notched a 16-6 victory over Denver Masters. Leading the way for the Falcons was junior Clark Condict (Irvine, Calif.) with four goals, while Justin Berry (Jr., Windermere, Fla.) and Alex Churnside (Fr., Orange, Calif.) each added three goals. Chris Pace (Jr., Santa Ynez, Calif.) and Joey Brewer (So., Clovis, Calif.) both scored two goals each, while Kevin Williams (So., River Forest, Ill.) and Andrew VanTimmeren (Fr., Jenison, Mich.) each added a goal. Meanwhile, David Ostrom (Fr., Mission Viejo, Calif.) recorded five saves for the Falcons, while Eric Gobrecht (So., Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.) added three.
The Falcons picked up a huge 22-13 victory over the Alumni in game two, paced by five goals each from Jack Hines (Fr., Riverside, Calif.) and Churnside. Condict added four scores, Tyler Hewko (So., Laguna Hills, Calif.) scored three goals and Berry added two goals. Meanwhile, Jason Fung (Fr., Honolulu, Hawaii), VanTimmeren and Williams added the last three scores. Ostrom tallied 12 saves for Air Force, while Gobrecht notched three.
Game three led to a 16-5 victory over Utah for the Falcons, who were led by Brewer with four goals. Hines and Berry each added three scores, Condict and Churnside scored two goals each and Kevin McDonald (So., Santa Ynez, Calif.) and Williams each added a goal. Against the Utes, Ostrom recorded 11 saves, while Gobrecht added 10 saves in goal.
In the final game for the Falcons, Air Force picked up a 20-8 victory over a joint Alumni/Denver Masters team. Hewko and Berry led the Falcons with four goals each, with Condict and Churnside adding three scores each. Brewer and Williams both pitched in two scores, while Hines and Pace wrapped up the scoring with a goal each.
Air Force also had its "B" team in action, playing in a pair of games. Sophomore Miles McMullan (Irvine, Calif.) scored six goals to lead the Falcons in a close 13-12 loss to Denver Masters, while Pace, Hines and McDonald scored two goals each in a 12-10 loss to Utah.
