Air Force Duo Earns National Academic Honors

STANFORD, Calif. - Two members of the Air Force women's gymnastics team earned national academic honors, the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) recently announced. Abigail Rogers and Jill Ward were some of 441 gymnasts named to the all-academic team for their success in the classroom during the 2007 season.
Rogers, a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-academic honoree, posted a 3.63 grade-point-average in behavioral sciences, while Ward maintained a 3.54 GPA in human systems engineering.
To be honored by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women, individuals must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher during the academic year.
The NACGC/W is very proud of the outstanding accomplishments of women gymnasts in the classroom that continue to set the standard for student-athletes nationwide. This year there were more than 100 female collegiate gymnasts with 4.0 GPAs and over 400 individuals who received Academic All American status as well as 60 teams with GPAs over a 3.0.
