Women's Gymnastics to Host Six Competitions in 2008

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Highlighted by six home competitions, the Air Force women's gymnastics team unveiled its upcoming schedule on Aug. 1. The Falcons will welcome four squads from around the country to the Academy's Cadet West Gym throughout the 2008 season, second-year head coach Doug Day announced.
The Falcons open the season on Jan. 18 against Centenary. The two programs will meet again on Jan. 20 for an afternoon meet. Air Force hits the road for a dual meet with Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas, on Jan. 27, before returning to the Academy on Feb. 2, for a meet with MIT. The Falcons remain close to home on Feb. 9, as they head up I-25 to Denver for the annual dual against the Pioneers.
Air Force faces two Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foes in as many weeks, as it hosts UC-Davis on Feb. 16, and travels to Seattle-Pacific on Feb. 23. Air Force closes out the home slate by welcoming Eastern Michigan to the Academy on Feb. 27 and again on Feb. 29.
The Falcons travel with the Eagles to Ypsilanti, Mich., for Eastern Michigan's Eagle Invitational on March 8, before closing out the regular season with two meets against conference opponent Alaska-Anchorage (March 14, March 16). The MPSF Championships are slated for March 29, in Davis, Calif.
