Falcons Sweep First Two Games in Canada

The Air Force men's basketball team opened its three-day trip to Vancouver, Canada, Saturday with a pair of victories. The Falcons defeated Trinity Western College, 65-30, Saturday morning, then downed Simon Fraser University, 67-60, Saturday evening.
Statistics were not available for the game against Trinity Western. Senior Tim Anderson led the team with 20 points, four rebounds, three assists and five steals in the nightcap against SFU. The teams played four 10-minute quarters and Air Force jumped out to a 25-14 lead after the first period.
Junior Anwar Johnson followed with 18 points, including 6-for-7 shooting from the free-throw line. Freshman Evan Washington added 12 points, while senior Keith Maren led the team with seven rebounds.
The Falcons shot 50 percent from the field and three-point range while holding SFU to 29 percent shooting from the field.
Air Force continues its trip with two more games on Sunday against the Vancouver All-Stars and the University of British Columbia.
