Stine and Klimkowski Pace Falcons at Nebraska Triangular

LINCOLN, Neb. - With four top-five finishes from senior Greg Stine, the Air Force men's gymnastics team finished third at a triangular meet with No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 10 Nebraska at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln on Sunday, Jan. 20. The Falcons posted a season-high 323.650, while increasing team event totals on the vault, parallel bars and high bar.

Stine scored a career-best 82.100 in the all-around to finish fourth. Included in that total were team-leading marks on the pommel horse (13.200), still rings (14.150), vault (15.400) and parallel bars (14.500). Stine placed fourth on the still rings, while taking fifth-place scores on the pommel horse and parallel bars with career-high scores. His eighth-place finish on the vault was also a career high.

Freshman Daniel Klimkowski had a strong showing in his first collegiate road competition. Picking up four top-10 finishes, Klimkowski improved his career-best marks in every event, including a 6.35 increase in the all-around. Scoring a combined score of 80.800, Klimkowski finished fifth in the all-around. He also picked up a fifth-place standing on the floor exercise, where he paced the Falcons with a score of 14.200. In addition, he earned a 10th-place score of 13.350 on the high bar.

Senior Tyler Sickles increased his personal score on the high bar, as he led the Falcons with a ninth-place score of 13.700. Two other Falcons accounted for top-10 finishes, as freshman William Eastman finished eighth on the floor exercise (13.950) and junior Josiah Loeser placed 10th on the still rings (13.400).

As a team, the Falcons increased three event scores, including an impressive jump of nearly three points on the high bar (52.450). Air Force also increased its vault total by two points (60.200), while upping the tally on the parallel bars (53.850).

Air Force will be off from competition next weekend, before heading East to take on Army (Feb. 1) and Springfield College (Feb. 3).
